Life's a drag

Last night was most entertaining. The drag kings put on a most entertaining show, aided by the masters of the ceremony and their numerous references to Spearmint Rhino, or "Minty Rhino" as it was dubbed. The acts were all funny and well done, with the performers obviously enjoying what they were doing.

Other highlights of the evening, in point form:

- Whilst I was standing at the bar waiting to be served, the girl in front of me turned to her friends, raised her drink and said "here's to pap smears!" best bar talk I've overheard in quite a while. That said, I don't get out much.

- Sonya giving me a lap dance.

- Which led to an extensive conversation about the merits of hotpants.

- Watching several lesbian-type people get their groove thing on to Ice Cube.

The night ended with me retaining few of the names of Sonya's friends (if it weren't for the fact that there were two Bens, I would have been screwed), Sonya doing a pretty damn good impersonation of Satan (or, alternately, that guy from Brujeria) whilst driving me to my car, and me driving home desperately hoping not to run into any police breath-testing units (bad P-plater, naughty P-plater).

Tonight does not look as though it will be nearly as exciting. Currently, I am waiting for Stuart to contact me to let me know that a) he's still alive and b) he is, in fact, coming over and we're going to go out somewhere tonight. My advice for you all is this: do not put your social life in the hands of someone who doesn't actually like socialising.

Lastly, this small piece of conversation between myself and Deirdre from yesterday, where I was talking about the gym and she was being uber-pedantic.

"Man, I can't believe the gym wore me out so much. I'm completely buggered."
"I really don't think you are."
"Yes. I am. I am totally buggered."
"I don't think you're really using the right word there."
"I am. Buggered, buggered, buggered!"
"No you're not."
"Well, fine then. [Pause.] I'm ARSEFUCKED."

That is all.
